The Farmers Market Design Competition was initated as a local or regional competition to ask a simple question about a small and confined site.  The question: What possiblilities arise when you transend the historic notion of a 'farmers market' and activate that space with an innovative and flexible public program that re-enforces 'community'?   The response was overwhelming.  We received 58 entries with 19 Colorado entries and 10 international entries.  The remainder of the entries were from all over the United States.  The answers to that question are represented in a broad range of concepts and Architectural expression.  This competition displays the vast possibilities of creativity and inspiration.  We thank all of those designers who chose to offer their minds and talents and make this a successful competition!
